The Harbert College of Business has once again been recognized for its academic excellence in the 2026 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s (USNWR) Best Undergraduate Business programs, ranking number 31 among public universities and number 51 overall (up 14 spots from last year).
“These rankings recognize the efforts of our world-class faculty and staff to provide a distinctly Harbert student experience for our 6,600 undergraduates, who are among the best and brightest students in the country,” said Jennifer Mueller-Phillips, dean of Harbert College. “We are pleased with the recognition of our innovative curriculum, hands-on immersive learning opportunities and strong industry partnerships, which prepare our students to lead across all business sectors.”
In addition to the college’s rankings, two departments received recognition in this year’s survey.
Published each fall, the undergraduate business program rankings are based solely on surveys of business school deans and senior faculty who rate the quality of programs they're familiar with. To appear on these surveys, undergraduate business programs must be accredited by AACSB International.
