Job Title
Small Business CPA Intern
Position Type
Internship/Part-time Job
Company Introduction
Allison Preston, CPA, is a 2015 graduate of the Auburn MAcc program. After a short
stint in public accounting and a few years in business management, Allison is now
a
stay-at-home mom of 4 with a small business CPA practice. Through her own boutique
accounting practice, she typically is responsible for all business bookkeeping tasks,
which includes a monthly reporting package to clients so that they know their numbers
for the period. She takes care of their sales tax, payroll, 1099 filings, annual tax
filings, as well as cash flow monitoring and budgeting. However, each client is unique
so the services provided are tailored to fit their needs. She provides expert guidance
to handle her clients' financial complexities while empowering them to focus on their
passions. Her goal is to arm her clients with all of the information they need to
make informed, smart business decisions.
Her business is also unique in that she works from home less than 10 hours a week. Her office attire is commonly sweatpants or jeans. She has flexible work hours so that she can focus on her family first, while also providing a supplemental income for her household. Allison is in love with the flexibility and balance her career provides through a non-traditional accounting path, and hopes to encourage others in those paths as well.
